Mr. Bentz stated that the PEC Report could be expanded on and the map of the plan could be <br />provided for citizens to see. Chairperson McDilda stated that large maps could be made. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that in addition, citizen involvement could be promoted through the <br />approval process. He asked if the ground proofing would be completed by then. Coordinator <br />Anderson did not believe so. <br /> <br />Board Member Olds stated that there should be some key bullet points for the wetland buffer <br />ordinance to be put on a poster or bulletin board. Board Member Max added that some FAQ's <br />would be a nice complement to let people know how things impact citizens. Board Member <br />Bentz stated his preference would be to provide the City's answer to questions to assure <br />accuracy. <br /> <br />Board Member Hustvedt arrived at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that when he attended Minnetonka's Expo, they had three or four <br />concurrent sessions of educational opportunities going on at one time, where there were good <br />educational opportunities, not specifically centered on kids and the elementary school. <br /> <br />Board Member Freeburg asked if the City was selling composting bins this year. Coordinator <br />Anderson stated that he hasn't heard whether the County will be doing that this year. He stated <br />that he would check to see if the County has a composting bin to show. <br /> <br />Board Member Freeburg asked if the Parks and Recreation Commission was going to be at the <br />Expo. He asked if they had maps to be handed out of parks and trails. Board Member Olds <br />stated that he was not sure if they would be available this year but they have been in the past and <br />there would be a parks and recreation booth. <br /> <br />Board Member Freeburg stated that he was asked at the last meeting to get in touch with the <br />Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy to arrange for a speaker. He stated they don't <br />send speakers, however they referred him to BWSR (MN Board of Water and Soil Resources). <br />He spoke to Ron Hamack, who referred him to Dave Wierens. Board Member Freeburg passed <br />around a report authored by BWSR on the disappearance of wetlands. Board Member Freeburg <br />suggested that an expert should come in to speak at a future EPB meeting, but to take an <br />opportunity at the Expo to advertise a platform for community involvement and education about <br />an upcoming community workshop. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda suggested a sign up sheet for people who might be interested. Board <br />Member Max stated that a forum of 3-4 people worked well for round table discussion and <br />community involvement. <br /> <br />Board Member Hustvedt stated he contacted a few groups that might be good for round table <br />discussions. He stated he contacted Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, Izaak <br />Walton League, Delta Water Fowl, and Ducks Unlimited. He said that two groups stated they <br />didn't have anybody that had time to speak.
