Inology used by the vendors. Because of this, the proposed software applications
further analyzed to the extent possible, with the intention of meeting with
the vendors for clarification as needed.

After completing this review, none of the vendors were found, at present, to be
able to deliver all of the applications, although all three offered a majority of the
reques~ted applications. To clarify what plans the vendors had for future
development and to determine the capabilities of their existing software, meetings
were scheduled with all vendors involving individuals in a position to provide
information about plans for new applications.

Step 3: Verification From Vendors of Items Proposed (present and future)

The purposes of these meetings included the following:

1) verify the capabilities of the software applications currently available
2) discuss the vendor's commitment to future development of municipal software
in general, and to the requested applications in particular
3) clarify the details and quality of their training program
4) clarify the details of their hardware and software maintenance and support
programs

are the summaries of the meetings with the three-vendors.

Software applications currently available: For all vendors, see attached Appendix
prepared in conjunction with City staff.

Commitment to future development:

Computoservice: Meeting, 1.18.84 with Bob Heidbrink, Marketing Manager, at the
City of Ramsey. (Note: Because of the time required to drive to Mankato and
since the system had already been demonstrated at an earlier stage in this
selection process, the decision was made not to arrange an on-site demonstration
as part of the meeting.)

Computoservice has the largest number of existing financial applications of any
'of the vendors. In all of the finance-related integrated applications (those where
finance files and planning, administration or public works files must be combined
in some way), the vendor expressed a strong commitment to develop some of the
software desired, and was able to attach probable completion dates t.o some of
the applications.

For the administration, planning and public works applications, the vendor was
not able to be as specific or to strongly commit to most of this development,
since their emphasis has generally been in finance and accounting.
