Commission Business <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Jensen, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt the proposed ordinance amending Chapter 9 of the City Code to allow fire stations <br />in the R-1 Rural Residential Districts. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Anderson, Commissioners Jensen, Kociscak, <br />Dempsey, Johnson, Nixt, and Wivoda. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Due to the confusion regarding the need for an additional public hearing on this matter, <br />Chairperson Anderson requested that, in the future, the Planning Commission be notified of any <br />process changes prior to the meeting. <br /> <br />OTHER COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson noted for the record that a public hearing was noticed regarding an <br />extension of the mining/grading permit issued for Apple Ridge/River Pines area, however, a <br />cancellation notice was also published and distributed as it was determined the current permit <br />would not expire until July 2000 (two years from the date of commencement, not issuance). <br /> <br />Commissioner Nixt stated that these permits are difficult to monitor because they are not date <br />specific, and he suggested staff consider giving these permits a fixed date for that purpose. <br /> <br />Case #4: Request for Site Plan Review; Case of Connexus Energy Storage Building <br /> <br />Planning Consultant Scalzo stated the applicant proposes a 200 square foot accessory building to <br />house equipment that boosts the amplification of telephone signals in the Ramsey area. The <br />proposal meets all City Code regulations. Staff suggests the addition of 3-4 coniferous trees to <br />screen the building year-round from Ramsey Boulevard and recommends approval of the site <br />plan. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Jensen, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to recommend City <br />Council approve Connexus Energy's site plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: Request for Site Plan Review; Case of Lord of Life Church Expansion <br /> <br />Planning Consultant Scalzo stated the applicant is proposing an expansion to their 23,104 square <br />foot facility to include a 35,206 square foot multi-purpose room and a 7,276 square foot alternate <br />A-1 youth room for a total of 65,676 square feet, equating to a lot coverage of 4%.
