Chairperson Anderson was at the City Council meeting and at his request, the <br />City Council sent the amended application back to the Planning Commission for their review and <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik noted that City Staff recommends approval of the applicants <br />amended request for a 113 square foot logo sign and a 45 square foot reader board, that will not <br />exceed 25 feet in height. <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson stated that there was a misunderstanding in regards to a 10 x 10 sign when <br />Mr. Dolphin made his presentation to the Planning Commission. He explained that there was a <br />10 x 10 sign available through another distributor that did not have to be custom made. <br /> <br />Greg Klone, Dolphin Real Estate, explained that Burger King has recently changed their sign and <br />logo and that they are going to be required to install the new sign which is 113 square feet. Mr. <br />Klone noted that a smaller sign will be made, but will be about 65 square feet. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson questioned if City Staff is recommending approval. Zoning <br />Administrator Frolik stated yes. <br /> <br />Commissioner Dempsey questioned how high above the ground will the reader board be placed. <br />Mr. Klone estimated eight to ten feet. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik noted that the findings of facts have been amended for the new <br />proposal. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Dempsey, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to recommend that <br />City Council adopt findings of fact relating to Dolphin's request for a conditional use permit for <br />a sign size overage. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Anderson, Commissioners Dempsey, Kociscak, <br />Jensen, Johnson, Nixt, and Wivoda. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Dempsey, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, to recommend that <br />City Council approve Dolphin's request, based on the findings of fact, and grant a sign size <br />overage of 58 square feet. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Anderson, Commissioners Dempsey, Johnson, <br />Jensen, Kociscak, Nixt, and Wivoda.
