A long stick wrapped with rough absorbent material <br />and lowered to the bottom will show the depth of sludge and the liquid depth. <br />The stick must be lowered in such a tank location as to avoid unrepresentative <br />readings that might be caused by interference from the scum layer. <br /> <br />150.01.5C APPROVED SYSTEMS <br /> <br />Upon satisfactory final inspection of the system, the plumbing inspector, his <br />designated representative or the homeowner shall prepare a sketch showing the <br />dwelling unit or structure, the structure dimensions, an arrow indicating which <br />direction is north, dimensions from two structure comers to the septic tank or <br />septic ta~ and well. Said information further including the depth of the <br />system, address of the property and last known date of pumping shall be <br />provided on forms provided by the City and shall be kept on file by the <br />plumbing inspector. Completed forms shall be dated and signed by the homeowner <br />and the inspetor if other than the homeowner. <br /> <br />150.01.5D NON-APPROVED SYSTI~S <br /> <br />If upon inspection, it is discovered that any part of the system is not <br />constructed or operating in accordance with the minimum standards of this <br />chapter, the plumbing inspector or his designated representative shall give <br />written notification of the defects. The owner/applicant shall be responsible <br />for the prompt elimination of all defects and no system shall be replaced in <br />service until all defects have been corrected or eliminated. If such defects <br />are not corrected, the system shall be declared a health hazard in accordance <br />with Section 150.01.8. <br /> <br />150.01.5r. TRAINII~ AND CK~TIFICATION <br /> <br />The plumbing inspector or his appointed representative(s) shall participate in <br />training courses for local inspectors as they are offered by state and local <br />agencies and shall become certified. A certification program has been <br />established by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br /> <br />150.01.5F LICEN$II~ <br /> <br />No person shall engage in the business of or perform for others the service of <br />soil and percolation testing and site evaluation, installing, renovating, <br />repairing, or pumping and cleaning sewage treatment systems within Ramsey <br />without first obtaining a license therefor. Installer licensees shall be <br />authorized to construct, install, renovate, repair, pump, clean and otherwise <br />maintain sewage treatment systems required in Sectinr 150.01.4F and 150.01.5B <br />above. Pump-hauler licensees shall be authorized to pump and clean sewage <br />treatment systems. Soil scientist licensees shall be authorized to perform soil <br />and percolation tests and site evaluations. <br /> <br />A person desiring to obtain any of the licenses described in Section 150.01.5F <br />shall submit an application therefor to the administrator which describes his: <br />business and authorization to conduct such services; education, training <br />certification, registrations and experience with respect to such services; <br />number of persons employed in performing such services; and such other <br />information as may be reasonably required by the administrator.
