d) Fill is stabilized to accepted engineering
standards.

3) The removal of natural vegetation shall be re-
stricted to prevent erosion into protected waters, to
consume nutrients in the soil, and to preserve
aesthetics. R~moval of natural vegetation in the over-
lay districts shall be subject to the following pro-
visions.

a) Selective removal of natural vegetation is
allowed, provided that sufficient vegetative cover
remains to screen cars, dwellings and other
structures when viewed frcm the water.

b) Clear cutting of natural vegetation is pro-
hibited.

c) Natural vegetation shall be restored insofar
as feasible after any construction project is com-
pleted to retard surface runoff and soil erosion.

d) The provisions of this section shall not apply
to permitted uses which normally require the re-
moval of natural vegetation.

Developaent shall be conducted so that the maximum num-
ber of trees are preserved by the locating of
structures in existing cleared areas and natural
clearing and the utilization of other site design
techniques.

Grading, contouring and paving shall be performed to min-
imize any detrimental affect on root zone aeration and
stability of existing trees. Existing trees shall be
provided with a watering area equal to at least one-
half the crown cover.

When trees are removed, the permittee will restore the
density of trees, utilizing nursery stocks of a mini-
mum of 1-3/4" diameter measured one foot above the
ground, using species generally accepted as suitable
for the purpose to that which existed before the de-
velopment provided that in no case need the density
exceed 10 trees per acre.

Development shall not reduce the existing crown cover
greater than 50% and shall be conducted in such a man-
ner as to preserve the under story and litter.

Trees used in reforestation or landscaping must be com-
patible with the local landscape and climatic condi-
Ordinance #85-2
