a stoplight be installed at 142na and T.H. #47. In his opinion, if a light were installed at Xkimo <br />and T.H. #47, all or most of the opposition would go away. The City will be going through the <br />winter without any improvements being done on T.H #47 and thinks it would be in the best <br />interest of the City to install the temporary lights. He inquired if it would be possible to rent <br />temporary lights. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that he was not sure if the County would have an extra <br />controller that could be used or not. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen requested that staff look into acquiring a traffic light and controller <br />for the intersection of Xkimo and T.H. #47, for a period of time not to exceed two years. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman questioned if the City would need permission from the State to <br />install stop lights. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied yes. <br /> <br />2) Barium Street Property Update <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman requested an update on the Barium Street property. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler stated that the storm water pipe has been extended and the <br />homeowner has begun some landscaping to help with drainage. Short term, they have done some <br />things to keep the home secure, but are still looking into long term solutions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen questioned what the rear yard setback is on a building lot. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied 35 feet. He questioned if the City should require a minimum <br />amount of high ground behind a property. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Chairperson Zimmerman, to direct the <br />Planning Commission to research the possibility of a minimum amount of high ground <br />requirement behind a property, and the desirability to have a setback requirement for an <br />easement. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman, and Councilmember Hendriksen, and <br />Connolly.
