Councilmember Connolly stated that there needs to be a density requirement for sidewalks and <br />trails. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman reviewed the consensus reached by the Park Commission in regard <br />to the trail system. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler questioned if Councilmember Connolly's trail recommendation <br />would be in addition to the Sunwood Drive trail or in lieu of. <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman replied in addition to the trail along Sunwood Drive. <br /> <br />Councihnember Connolly stated that if the trail is installed by Lord of Life Church, she did not <br />think there would be a need for a trail along the three existing blocks of Sunwood Drive. <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman stated that, in his opinion, the trail should be installed along all of <br />Sunwood Drive, but also to include Councilmember Connolly's proposal. <br /> <br />The Committee discussed in length the trail system possibilities for a handicapped trail. <br /> <br />Counciimember Connolly requested that all of the City trails have signs stating how long each <br />trail segment is. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if the T.H. #47 project is on schedule. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that the plans are currently going through the State agencies. <br />The most immediate thing for the City to do is complete the land acquisitions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly inquired if the land acquisition cost includes the capping of the wells. <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that the cost is included in the construction cost. <br /> <br />Councih~ember Zimmen-nan questioned if there has been any talk about installing <br />telecommunications pipes under the road for the future so the road will not have to be torn up. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that they are not included currently, but staff can research the <br />possibility. <br /> <br />Case #2: Update of River Pines Issues <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that there are currently two issues relative to the River Pines <br />subdivision, both of which are associated with grading issues. The first issue deals with the <br />grading in the vicinity of Lot 9, Block 1 of the Apple Ridge subdivision. A meeting was held on <br />October 7, 1999, between the City of Ramsey and Orrin Thompson Homes.
