Mike's Woodworking is located at
7520 - 149th Avenue NW, in the Pineview Estates 2nd Addition P.U.D. This P.U.D is to
accommodate residences with businesses operating out of accessory buildings on the site. Ms.
Frolik explained that Mr. Sjoquist is proposing to construct an 864 square foot addition to the
existing 2,964 square foot woodworking shop, for a total shop size of 3,828 square feet. The
purpose of the addition is to augment his warehouse space and the adjusted building size is in
conformance with the lot coverage restriction on the commercial portion of the property. The
addition meets all setback requirements. She stated that the Planning Commission reviewed the
site plan on June 1, 1999, and is recommending it along with staff site plan approval, contingent
upon compliance with City Staff Review Letter dated May 24, 1999.

Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to
approve the proposed site plan for Mike's Woodworking contingent upon compliance with City
StaffReview Letter dated May 24, 1999.

Motion carried. She explained
that in the commercial and industrial districts, the City Code restricts the ground or freestanding
sign size to 100 square feet (200 square feet aggregate surface area). Sign heights are restricted
to 25 feet from grade to top of sign. Burger King is proposing a freestanding sign that includes a
144 square foot franchise logo and a 45 square foot reader board, for a total of 189 square feet.
The sign height is proposed to be 35 feet.
