John Kellas, Waste Management, stated that he was just made aware of the project and was <br />unable to state at this time if Waste Management was in favor of or opposed to the project. He <br />stated that he would be willing to meet with City staff and the other business owners to discuss <br />the pros and cons of the project. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that they City had difficulty notifying Waste Management in <br />regards to the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Kellas noted that he would be the contact in regards to the project. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich explained that no action would be taken during the August 10, 1999 <br />meeting, that there will be a 60-day waiting period where the benefited parties are allowed to <br />petition against the project if they choose to do so. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman questioned if the public hearing should be tabled to allow Waste <br />Management time to review the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Kellas stated that the 60-day waiting period would allow them enough time to review the <br />project. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Zimmerman, <br />Anderson and Connolly. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 7:39 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular portion of the City Council meeting back to order at 7:39 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen questioned if there was a development agreement between the City <br />of Ramsey and Waltek. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sherman answered that there was no development agreement <br />because Waltek developed on their own. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen questioned if Waltek petitioned for the upgrades. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that during the site plan process it was determined that a <br />feasibility study would be done. <br /> <br />City Council/August 10, 1999 <br /> Page 5 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
