Zoning Administrator Frolik replied that Code requires all natural or pre-fabricated stone, but in <br />this situation, the aluminum siding would be more compatible with the adjacent residential <br />neighborhood. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that if he were a business owner and did not want to comply <br />with the brick requirement he would be pointing to the case saying it wasn't required for this <br />situation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly requested that the motion include Monarch Homes work with Staff on <br />appropriate screening vegetation. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Connolly, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to grant site plan approval to <br />the proposal for Monarch Homes contingent upon compliance with the City Staff letter dated <br />September 28, 1999, and the recommendation of the Planning Commission on October 5, 1999, <br />in regards to the brick, and that Monarch Homes works with Staff on appropriate screening <br />vegetation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: Councilmember Hendriksen. <br /> <br />Case #8: <br /> <br />Consider Improvement Project #99-63 Construction of Sewer and <br />Watermain along Sunfish Lake Boulevard <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that on August 10, 1999, a public hearing was concluded on <br />Improvelnent Project #99-63, the extension of sanitary sewer and watermain to the Waltek <br />property. The sixty-day comment period ended October 9, 1999. On Friday, October 8, 1999, a <br />petition signed by four of the five benefited properties opposing the project was received by the <br />City. The City Charter prevents the authorization of this project under 429 (assessment) process <br />for a minimum of 12 months. Since the Council has made certain commitments to Waltek to <br />provide sewer and water services, the Council may wish to consider authorizing the project as a <br />utility project. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to the total cost of the project. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied $163,000. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen questioned the amount that would be owed by Waltek. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied $58,000. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if some of the project will include watermain looping. <br /> <br />City Council/October 12, 1999 <br /> Page 17 of 28 <br /> <br /> <br />
