To
avoid this conflict requires moving the piping and tee to the east 2 feet 6 inches and installing a 16-inch
flange 90 bend. The requested changes also impact the originally drawn piping lengths and configurations,
but this will not impact the overall costs for those modifications.
Proposal No. 012: Accordion Folding Security Door:
To meet egress out of the building, the fire rated accordion door into the admin area is required to open
enough to allow for access through the main double door between the pipe gallery and admin area. The
original design included one motor that would control both sides of the bi-parting system. This means that
since these are driven by one motor, when activated, both sides of the accordion door retract at the same
distance. This design worked as intended when the main door between the admin area and the pipe gallery
was centered between the filter bays. However, once the intermediate level to the pipe gallery was added,
the door had to be shifted for the landings and stairs to line up. W.L Hall Co. (door supplier) proposes to
switch to a dual motor system, so that each bi-parting accordion door can be independently driven to allow
for unequal opening around the main access door. See below for both scenarios.
.. ADMIN GALLERY ADMIN GALLERY
'4 102 102
8'-011 I I O"-('<11
C7 f
LNDG. It was also requested that Magney switch from mechanical joint by flanged
wall sleeves to plain end by flanged wall sleeves for all overflow pipes to better the hydraulics, however,
Magney has already ordered the wall sleeves and would require a restocking fee to replace. For that reason,
this proposal only includes the required modifications to the weir box in the backwash tank.
Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.
6901 East Fish Lake Road,Suite 184 • water Tower Place Business Center • Maple Grove, MN 55369 • 763-463-5036
