employment with the City of Ramsey as a patrol officer on May 24, 2006 at an hourly rate of <br />$19.62. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee in Case No. I and adopt Resolution #06-05-169 <br />authorizing that Christopher Curtis begin employment with the City of Ramsey as a patrol officer <br />on May 24, 2006 at an hourly rate of $19.62. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Olson, Elvig, Jeffrey, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman advised the position vacated by Mr. Curtis will need to be filled. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to fill the vacant position <br />created by the promotion of Mr. Curtis to patrol officer. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Olson, Elvig, Jeffrey, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec commended the Police Chief Way and the individuals that handled the recent <br />meeting regarding the level 3 sex offender moving into the City. <br /> <br />Case #11: Report from the Finance Committee <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Meeting with Property Owner at 14720 Germanium Street Regarding $6,000 <br />Water Bill <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen reviewed that at the last Finance Committee meeting there was <br />discussion of a $6,000 water bill that was received by a resident. The Committee had directed <br />staff to set up a payment plan with Ms. Smith, and that there should not be a reduction of the bill. <br />The resident requested to come back and talk with the Committee, and was represented by an <br />army family representative who has experience with water meters. The Committee is generally <br />sticking to the recommendation of the last meeting. However, this army representative had some <br />questions he wanted to look into in his investigation. The official recommendation of the <br />Committee was to table any action until the army representative completes his investigation and <br />comes back to the Finance Committee with his findings. <br /> <br />Committee/Staff Input <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen indicated the Committee requested a check-in on the budget, and <br />would like to schedule this topic for a work session with the full Council. <br /> <br />Case #12: Report from Public Works Committee <br /> <br />5) Consider Request for Additional City Funding for Improvement Project 05-27 <br /> Welcomes Road Street Grading and Paving Improvements <br /> <br />Moved up in the agenda as Case No. 3A. <br /> <br />City Council / May 23, 2006 <br />Page 16 of 20 <br /> <br /> <br />
