SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1. General <br /> This project shall generally consist of patching potholes by hand that are greater than 2 inches in <br /> depth on City streets identified on the attached project plan sheet, then skim patching the patched <br /> pavement. The Contractor shall conduct his work in conformance with the specifications set forth <br /> herein and in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Transportation Standard Specification <br /> for Construction, 2020 Edition, which is incorporated by reference to these specifications. In <br /> addition,the Contractor shall conduct the pavement patching operations in strict conformance with <br /> the material manufacturer's written instructions. <br /> 2. Project Schedule <br /> The City of Ramsey anticipates, but does not guarantee, award of contract for Maintenance Project <br /> No. 24-55, 2024 Pavement Patching Contracted Services, on May 14, 2024. Construction is <br /> anticipated to commence on or about June 3, 2024. <br /> 3. Time for Completion and Liquidated Damages <br /> The Contractor shall complete the work on or before August 30, 2024. Failure to complete the <br /> project within this specified time shall result in the payment as liquidated damages according to <br /> the schedule contained in Table 1807-1 of the Minnesota Department of Transportation Standard <br /> Specifications for Construction, 2020 Edition. <br /> 4. Working Hours <br /> The work shall be carried out during normal daylight working hours in accordance with local <br /> ordinance and so as not to cause any unreasonable nuisance to affected residents.Under emergency <br /> conditions, this limitation may be waived in writing by the Engineer in conjunction with qualified <br /> local authority. Normal working hours in the City of Ramsey are considered to be from 7:00 a.m. <br /> to 10:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday.Any work proposed on a Saturday must be approved <br /> 72 hours in advance to ensure adequate field oversight by a City representative. Work on a Sunday <br /> is only allowed by City Council approval. <br /> 5. Protection of Utilities and Structures <br /> Overhead utilities, poles, mailboxes, irrigation systems, etc. shall be protected against damage by <br /> the Contractor,and if damaged by the Contractor, shall be replaced by them at their expense. <br /> 6.
