TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br /> SECTION 1 - CLEAN AND PREPARE TRAIL SURFACE <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. This section includes requirements for the preparation of the existing <br /> bituminous surface including crack filling and patching of pavement to <br /> promote the successful coverage of polymerized asphalt emulsion. <br /> 1.2 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br /> A. Work shall be performed only when the following conditions are present: <br /> 1. Rain is not forecasted in the next 24 hours. <br /> B. Prep Work shall be performed Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays, <br /> during the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, unless otherwise approved by the <br /> Owner. <br /> C. Contractor shall notify the Parks Superintendent not less than 2 days prior to <br /> commencing work activities, excluding weekends and holidays. <br /> D. Prior to commencing work, the Contractor shall demonstrate compliance to <br /> the following requirements, to the satisfaction of the City of Monticello: <br /> 1. Safety: <br /> a. Refer to the conditions of the Proposal Form. <br /> b. Contractor use of City of Monticello-furnished products or <br /> materials shall not relieve the Contractor of any requirements <br /> and responsibilities for safety on the project. <br /> 2. Maintenance of Traffic: <br /> a. All trails shall remain CLOSED to public use during the work, <br /> unless otherwise approved by the City of Monticello project <br /> engineer. <br /> 3. Work Hours: <br /> a. Shall be carefully planned to coordinate with subsequent work <br /> activities. <br />
