The total is $71,577.30 which is less than 25% of the contract cost for <br />the NW Sewer Project. Mr. Jankowski advised staff recommends authorizing advertisement for <br />bids for Water Supply Wells 7 and 8, and to accept the proposal from Latour Construction for <br />installation of the connection to Pump House No.4 in the amount of $46,428.50 and installation <br />of hydrants at Fire Station No. I in the amount of$25,138.40. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig asked how close the other bids were to the bid by Latour Construction. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied the amount of the change order is determined by the unit prices <br />that Latour Construction competitively bid on the northwest sanitary sewer project; the quantities <br />are being extended from that bid. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adopt Resolution #06- <br />06-200 authorize advertisement for bids for Water Supply Wells 7 and 8, and to approve <br />modification of contract for NW Sewer and Water Extension to include installation of <br />connection to Pump House NO.4 for $46,428.50 and installation of hydrants at Fire Station No. <br />I for $25,138.40, for a total of$71,577.30. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Olson, Cook, Pearson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Jeffrey. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gamec asked when the treatment plant is expected to be on-line. Fire <br />Chief Kapler replied he believes completion is planned in 2008. Mayor Gamec requested staff to <br />include this information in the Weekly Update. <br /> <br />Case #10: <br /> <br />Award Bids for Improvement Project #06-24 Ebony Addition Utility and <br />Street Improvements <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated earlier tonight the Council approved final plat for Ebony <br />Addition. This project consists of the installation of Ebony Street between 141 51 Avenue and <br />McKinley Street and McKinley Street from Ebony Street west to the Bury & Carlson property. <br />The project also includes the installation of watermain down Ebony Street and storm sewer along <br />the railroad tracks east to the Ace Solid Waste property. Bids were authorized by Council at the <br />May 23, 2006 City Council meeting. Bids were opened on Tuesday, June 20, 2006, and seven <br />bids were received. The low bid was from Ryan Contracting in the amount of $349,872.54. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired about the funding source for this project. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied the funding source will be TIF District No.2. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig asked if the City has any past history working with Ryan Contracting. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied he does not believe so, unless they have done work with . <br />Ramsey Town Center. <br /> <br />City Council I June 27, 2006 <br />Page 16 of24 <br /> <br />-32- <br />
