Case #2:

Update on the Trott Brook Conservation Easement Acquisitions

ParkslUtilities Supervisor Riverblood stated the City received a grant from the Legislative
Commission on Minnesota Resources for acquisition of Conservation Easements along Trott
Brook.

CounciImember Strommen thought they would want to highlight the success of the work already
done with the grant money received.

Chairperson Johns wondered if they could start making the trail connections with what they have
or do they need to wait.

ParkslUtilities Supervisor Riverblood stated they could, especially if it connects neighborhoods.
It builds momentum for trails and trail development.

Commissioner Shryock wondered if it was a possibility that the sewer and water could go into
that easement also.

ParkslUtilities Supervisor Riverblood stated if it is a park and trail easement, conservation
easement, it can only be used for that purpose.

Commissioner Olds wondered if designating that as a trail corridor; negate acquiring it for sewer
and water.

ParkslUtilities Supervisor Riverblood did not think it would limit it.

Case #3:

Joint City CounciIlParks Commission Discnssion

Civil Engineer II Linton stated the City Council and Park and Recreation Commission has a
tradition of holding an annual joint meeting. The purpose of the joint meeting is to provide an
opportunity for the Council and Commission to share ideas and discuss topics of mutual concern.

Park CIP

Chairperson Johns stated one of the parks on the list is Titterud and she wondered when this
would get started.

ParkslUtilities Supervisor Riverblood stated he was not sure.

Mayor Gamec stated they have not seen any plans for this yet.

ParkslUtilities Supervisor Riverblood reviewed the improvements that have been done to
Titterud so far.

CounciImember Pearson wondered if there was something on the list that was lacking that the
Commission would like to see done.

Park and Recreation Commission/June 8, 2006
Page 3 of 6
