Currently, studies are being accomplished as to how approach the develop- ---:-: - ment of this energy to maximize its use. -.---. .- V. Briefly describe the community problems that the activities address. The following is hereby submitted on this: a) Low income jobs - With the expansion of industry and introduction of new industry to Ramsey, it will bring in entry level jobs and intermediate level jobs. :__The City of -Ramsey at the present -has .. very little;-.ihdustry that addresses the low income job situation. .-:..:-1... b) The providing of jobs also provides the family with money to renovate their home which-also eliminates neighborhood blight. c) The introduction of industry also provides the tax base that is sorrily needed by the school district, County and City governments. in providing the services that are.normally expected in"each of the above governing bodies. VI. Summarize the funding. I A. Total revenue needed -. Inasmuch as the study is being done.at_,this time, it is not known what the total dollar amount needed will be .to accomplish the project until the study has been completed and decisions -are made-on what options ~ffer th~ most viable approach.to seeing a -successfUl project. B. Total CDBG revenue needed - It is anticipated that the City will use its total CDBG funds of $41,730 in this economic development project. c.. Source and amount of other revenue - other sources of revenue will come from the private sector and grants from the Anoka County Community Action Project, Inc. (ACCAP). VII. Detail the cost of each activity. There will be attached as a separate addendum, a cost-breakdown which will be completed when final review has been made on the study that was done by the ACCAP, City of Ramsey and City of Anoka as to the approach and cost of utilizing methane energy generated at the landfill. VIII. List and explain the goals and the local importance of the project. The goals of.. this .project will be to provide the following: a) New jobs for low and moderate income persons. b) To provide a tax.- base for the City of Ramsey, school district and Anoka County which will allow the providing of adequate services for all of these governing bodies. c) Developing use of an energy that is currently being flared off and waste~ at a low cost for industry.
