'!he Weather Channel has the ability to receive and
instantoneously display l=a1 weather warnings, bulletins, and state--
rrents, interrupting all regular prograrrrning on the Weather Channel,
including c:omrercials. Also, the local forcast is displayed once for
1 minute every 5 minutes. (24 hour service)

OIANNEL #19

Proposed: lbrth Arrerican Newst:irre/Local and State News

Change: lbrth Arrerican Newst:irre with Associated Press Newsfeed.

Reason: NAN purchased UPI Cable Newswire. NAN does not have local news. AP
does allow an operator to subscribe to various local feeds. Along
with national and international news, there is a state and l=a1 up-
date every 20 minutes. The feed we would subscribe to would update
news fran the 5 state area. (24 hour service)

OIANNEL #20

Proposed: Senior Citizens Access/Cinererica

Change:

Corrbine Senior Citizen Access with Religious Access. Also, drop
Cinerrerica.

Reason:

In regards to access progranming, the reason is the sa'TE as stated
previously. Cinerrerica was to be a satellite fed program service
dedicated with special appeal to the older viewer. It never materi-
lized.

OIANNEL #21

Proposed: JcrMA

Change: DrOp K'IMA - open for discussion

Reason: K'IMA is not a local independent broadcast facility. K'INI\. is Spectrum.
A pay subscription television service. Prior to April 1, 1982 the
FCC required S'N services to have a min.inn.lrn of 10 hours of public
service broadcasting daily in order to operate. [Bregulation did
occur and they can now be strictly subscription fee services.
