<br />15 Minutes <br /> <br />CASE #6: <br /> <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONTRACTING OUT SANITARY <br />SEWER AND WATER DISTRIBUTION MAINTENANCE <br />By: Dave Hartley, City Aaministrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City Council has asked that specifications be prepared for contracting out <br />sanitary sewer collection system operation and maintenancet water distribution <br />system operation and maintenance. Bnd park maintenance. The format for tbese <br />specifications is that three basic documents spell out the expectations of the <br />City of Ramsey and the relationship which will be maintained between the <br />contractor and the City. These documents are: 1) Standards (operational <br />manual); 2) Request for proposals; and 3) Contract document which establishes <br />the lines of authority and responsibility. At this time the Council is asked <br />to review the operation and maintenance manual and the request for proposals. <br />Note that on Page 4 of the request for proposal there is a provision for a <br />selection committee to review the qualifications of the proposers. The Mayor <br />or Council may wish at this time to appoint two Councilmemhers to this review <br />committee. <br /> <br />Enclosed for your information are these documents. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Council action will be to review the documents and possibly appoint two <br />Councilmembers to serve on the selection committee. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator -X- <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />Other <br />
