' Mr. Auspos stated that his department took a shot at the July 29 Oouncil <br />meeting) oammments were made regarding the crime rate in Andover being lower <br />than that of Ramsey. Mr. Auspos present copies of a Minnesota summary <br />' Information Report which showed Ramsey's crime rate lower than Andover's and <br />Ramsey's clearance rate is greater than Andover's. Mr. Auspos stated that he <br />did not like the reference that the Anoka ODunty Sheriff's offJoe is doing <br />better in Andover than Ramsey's department is doing in Ramsey; the police <br />' department took an unnecessary shot. <br />Councilmember Reiman stated that he learned from Andover City Administrator <br />' Pat Lindguist that Andover contracts two off ioers from the County Sheriff's <br />Department for 24 hour (not around the clock) protection. ODuncilmember <br />Reiman stated that for what the police department is costing the City, Ramsey <br />should show better crime rate figures than Andover. <br />Mr. Auspos stated that the County Sheriff's Department is subsidized by all <br />cities in the County and therefore can afford to contract out at a good rate. <br />' The meeting adjourned at 9:42 a.m. <br />Respectfully sutmitted, <br />Sylvia Frolik Lloyd G.
