Oouncilmember Reiman <br />' stated that he though the computer system was supposed to cut down on employee <br />workload. <br />' Mr. Berg stated that if it weren't for the computer word processing, the City <br />would have had to hire another employee 6 months ago. <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that the City is growing and the demands are there. <br />1 Oouncilmember Reimann stated that there is nobody better than Ms. Frolik to <br />take minutes; putting her on an hourly part-tire wage with benefits based on <br />' the amount of hours might be better for Ms. Frolik and the City; the City would <br />not have a permanent employee and she could be eliminated in the future if need <br />be. <br />Mr. Schnelle pointed out that the city has control over permanent employees <br />also. <br />(buncilmember Sorteberg pointed out that the City would not have the control to <br />cut back on Ms. Frolik's hours if she were permanent. <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that the workload is to the point where we can't afford to <br />let people take their vacations. <br />Oouncilmember Reimann stated that if anybody has a vacation coming, they should <br />take it. Oouncilmember Reimann suggested that Ms. Frolik submit a proposal to <br />the Personnel Committee for an hourly part-time wage; with respect to permanent <br />full -time employment, the City should know by the first of next year if such <br />action is necessary. <br />Mr. Schnelle requested a recommendation from the Personnel Committee for a <br />percentage figure to be used in budgeting 1986 salaries:- <br />The Committee directed that this matter be placed on a future Personnel <br />Committee agenda for discussion. <br />Mr. Schnelle presented the Committee with a copy of his letter of resignation <br />' to the Mayor for retirement reasons and to be effective in August. Mr. <br />Schnelle presented the Committee with a copy of the Mayor's letter requesting <br />Mr. Schnelle to extend his resignation effective date until October. <br />' Personnel Committee directed Mr. Schnelle to submit a new letter of resignation <br />effective in October and the Personnel Committee will proceed from there. <br />' Case Us Police Mgotiations• <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that he has not had a dunce to discuss the matter with <br />' Labor Relations.
