'
June 29, 1985 City of Ramsey' Page 2
'
4. Change Order No. 2. This C.O. did not come up until most of the work
on the project had been completed. We request a 4 day time extension
due to the number of operations involved and the curing time required.
In accordance
with 1806.2 of the specifications an automatic time extension
is due because of the Contract Overrun. We estimate the final contract
amount to be approximately $427,000, or an overrun of approximately $41,470.
This
yields and extension of 6.5 days as shown:
Original Contract Amount $385,530.00
'
Original Contract Time 61 Cal. Days
Original Production per Day $6,320.16
Contract Overrun t Production 6.5 days extension
It is our opinion that we made extraordinary efforts to meet the May 10th
deadline
and that the City has a good job at a very reasonable cost. The
City and the Developer have had full use of the streets and facilities
'
since June 21st, the date on which seeding and sodding was completed.
At this time we are not writing to submit a claim against the City for
additional work performed such as: a) excessive amounts of earthwork
"Subgrade
'
in Preparation" areas, b) restoration of utility trenches,
or a) additional costs due to interferences by other contractors.
'
In summary we request that the date for completion of all substantial work
be considered June 21, 1985, and that the contract completion date be
extended to June 21, 1985 due to the 27.5 day time extension which brings
us well past June 21st.
Sincerely,
FORES IAKE CONTRACTING, INC.
Richard Spengler Sec.
1
