Individuals must not use City -owned or operated equipment to post to personal sites, including <br />social networking sites, except during break times or before/after work. <br />Personal Social Networking while off duty and the CityCity's Responsibility <br />the <br />The eityCity of Ramsey has a duty to protect the reputation of the organization and its employees <br />as well as guard against pliability and potential legal risks2k regardless of when and where social <br />networking activity occurs. With this in mind, employees must use social media in a manner that <br />adheres tofollows the following guidelines: <br />• Individuals should use discretion when engagingcxcicise caution and -good judgment when <br />social networkingon social networking sites or}abm: <br />• Individuals shall not imply - : - - - - . they are speaking or acting on behalf of the <br />eityCity of Ramsey or presenting itc444., interests of the cityCity of R;i<<��ry <br />-_ ndividuals are not permitted to display the eityCity of Ramsey logo on any part of their <br />online profiles <br />• tmdividuals must not port non-public or never have the right to post non public and <br />confidential informations such as_ information related to coworkers without first obtaining <br />the individuals' express written consent, personnel data, medical information, or claims or <br />lawsuits against the GityCity, or information about coworkers, without obtaining the <br />expreNs written col -Net -it of the individiials involved.y <br />• I-ndividua1s who use personal social media accounts are not immune from the law. <br />AIn general, 11 users of social networking should be aware that the content of these uncial <br />networking sites can be subpoenaed and used in criminal and civil trials. Individuals need to be <br />aware that they have no reasonable expectation of privacy when social networking and use of <br />personal social media accounts are subject to all pertinent eityCity of Ramsey polices, as well as <br />local, state and federal laws. <br />Content that violates existing GityCity policies - such as that exhibit hate speech, bias, <br />discrimination, pornography, libelous or otherwise defamatory content will not be tolerated. <br />Individuals are prohibited from using social networking sites to harass or attack others, including <br />coworkers cm those who work torassociatect with the eityCity of Ramsey <br />CityCity Facebook jpage or tether CityCity Social ji+etworkingsites <br />• Authorized eityCity staff responsible for updating social media sites must exercise <br />the greatest care to portray the City in the possible best light possible. <br />• If the author of a given post is quoting another individual's comments, the comments <br />must be explicitly identified called out as a quote using with quotation marks. <br />• In general, all posts should be reviewed by a supervisor and coma-ur1rcw.yori,, staff. 1,- f <br />there is any doubt regarding the appearance, tone, or interpretation of a post, <br />staff shall have the post reviewed by the GityCity Administrator before proceeding. <br />All posts to the GiyCity's social media sites and other official GityCity publications <br />must comply with these policies. <br />1OOPage <br />Commented [JF21]: Moved language to the LMC Social media <br />section near the top of the document. <br />Formatted: Raised by 1 pt <br />Formatted: Raised by 0.5 pt <br />Commented [JF22]: This language is kind of covered by the <br />LMC language provided.
