ARTICLE 11 VACATION LEAVE <br /> 11.1 Every regular EMPLOYEE shall be entitled to vacation leave based upon the <br /> following schedule: <br /> 1"ull-Time AFSCME EMPLOYEE Vacation Accrual Schedule <br /> Years of Service I I <br /> (YOS) Bi-weekly Accrual Rate Vacation Days/Year <br /> First Year Advanced 5 of 10 days 10 days <br /> 1.54 hours/pay period <br /> 2nd through 5 th YO S13.08 hours/ a eriod 10 dag p yp s y <br /> 16ththrough IOth YOS 4.62 hours/pay period 15 days <br /> - r <br /> J lth throw h 15th YOS 6.15 hours/pay ayp y period 20 days <br /> g <br /> 16th YO S 6.46 hours/ a period -121 days <br /> p yp s y <br /> 17th YOS 6.77 hours/pay period 22 days <br /> 18th YOS 7.08 hours/pay period 23 days <br /> 19th YOS 7.38 hours/pay period 24 days <br /> a <br /> 20th YOS 7.69 hours/pay period 25 days <br /> The EMPLOYER may compute vacation accrual on an hourly basis on a ratio equal <br /> to the appropriate annual equivalent compared to 2080 hours of compensated time, <br /> exclusive of overtime. <br /> 11.2 An EMPLOYEE'S accrual or "banked" vacation leave may not exceed two times <br /> the yearly accrual at any point in time. <br /> 11.3 Vacation leave may be used as earned subject to approval by the department head <br /> prior to the time at which said vacation is to be taken and subject to the provisions <br /> in ARTICLE 18. <br /> 11.4 Any EMPLOYEE leaving the municipal service in good standing after giving <br /> proper notice of such termination of employment shall be compensated for vacation <br /> leave accrued and unused to the date of separation. <br /> Any EMPLOYEE leaving the municipal service without giving proper notice of <br /> such termination of employment shall not be compensated for vacation leave <br /> accrued and unused to the date of separation. <br /> 11.5 For the purpose of accumulating additional vacation leave, an EMPLOYEE using <br /> earned vacation leave,paid holidays, sick leave or compensatory time is considered <br /> to be working. <br /> 16 <br />
