<br />Board Member Max suggested an explanation about why anyone should care or bother <br />about wetlands. <br /> <br />Board Member Hustvedt suggested a basic explanation for the seven classifications of <br />wetlands. <br /> <br />Board Member Bentz suggested that the EPB get some input from an expert in the field <br />of wetlands. Board Member Max concurred with his suggestion adding that a graduate <br />level student may wish to become involved. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that the book should be written at grade school reading level. <br /> <br />Board Member Bentz suggested illustrations. <br /> <br />Board Member Freeburg suggested a section on why wetlands are important in the <br />introduction. <br /> <br />Board Member Max and Hustvedt concurred with Board Member Freeburg's suggestion. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda suggested that it flow into the wetland buffer ordinance. <br /> <br />Board Member Freeburg suggested a section about the effect of wetlands on property <br />values. <br /> <br />Board Member Olds suggested a section on why wetlands are important, and what the <br />benefits are. <br /> <br />Board Member Freeburg suggested features, advantages, and benefits. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda stated that he would like to see EPB members bring things in draft <br />format for the next meeting. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that the Tree Book contains a calendar. He suggested that it <br />might be interesting to see what is happening seasonally with the wetlands. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda concurred that this would leave people with the concept that <br />wetlands are not stagnant. <br /> <br />Board Member Sibilski suggested a section about how to protect wetlands with <br />recommendations for do's and don'ts. <br /> <br />Board Member Max asked if there should be a few indicators of individual species of <br />plants in wetlands. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda stated that might be something to turn over to the grad students. <br /> <br />Environmental Policy Board/July 10, 2006 <br />Page 30f7 <br />
