excavate this site and that once staking was completed in the field, it is possible that grades
will be slightly altered to better match the existing topography. Boos indicated that a small
island for waterfowl habitat is needed in the wetland area. V ollhaber indicated his hope that
the wetland excavation will completed with a grader but it is possible that a backhoe will also
be needed.

Boos asked if the ag lime to be used for the infield surfaces will be red. V ollhaber indicated' .
that it will be.

The next discussion was regarding the irrigation system. Watermain to serve this site, as well
as the Alpine Estates Residential development, has been constructed by C. W. Houle, and is
located on the south side of 153rd Avenue. The specifications for this project included the fact
that a 3 n watermain service would be provided by others for connection by the irrigation sub-
contractor. It appears, however, that this 3" watermain service was not completed as part of
the Houle project, so the irrigation Contractor will need to provide the City a price for this
additional work. Discussion was heard regarding the location of this service connection and it
is believed that the connection will be made between the hydrant tee/value and the hydrant.
This will be excavated during construction and reviewed in the field. The City also provided a
sketch plan of additional irrigation lines they would like to add to the project. A copy of this
has been provided to Forest Lake Contracting so that a price can be quoted by the irrigation
sub-contractor. As required by the specification, the City will provide a 3" water meter and
the irrigation Contractor will be providing the back flow preventor. Graham reiterated that
Nelson Products will be used for this project. Graham has talked to the supplier of this
material, who is working with Emerald Irrigation Systems. Graham also reiterated that a one
(1) foot square of sod needs to be placed around each irrigation head.

The next discussion was regarding traffic control. As discussed in the specifications, the only
traffic control necessary for this project is when street work is being completed to connect the
parking lot road to 153rd Avenue. Graham indicated that it will be important to place signs
indicating "work ahead n as 153rd A venue does have limited site distance in some areas.
Jankowski concurred with this request but indicated traffic is fairly light on 153rd Avenue and
is only approximately 1,000 - 1,500 vehicles per day. Graham reiterated that since the traffic
control is minor on this project, it is incidental to the contract.

Three (3) copies of the Contracts have been returned by Forest Lake Contracting. Graham
provided these Contract Books to Jankowski for signature by the City. Graham indicated that
copies of the Bid Bond need to be added to each Contract.

I ~Preconstruction Conference Minutes Page 3

0:\proj\800560\560-2509 .sept
