(AcCent Kitchen Continued) AcCent Home & Kitchen Center made the decision to consolidate their three existing facilities into a single 48,000 square foot building to allow for greater control and the ability to provide better service to its customers. "After meeting with AMCON Construc- tion and discussing the advantages oftheconsolida- tion to a single site, the decision was fairly easy for the company," stated Duane Jones, President of AcCent Home & Kitchen Center. "We believe that by consolidating our two manufacturing and one sales locations, we will gain advantages in size, communi- cation and logistics. This will allow for the most important component of our business, the customer, to benefit as we will be able to provide better service and products all at the same price." The construction of this facility, and the pending construction of three additional facilities along McKinley will complete the development of the first area of the Ramsey Business Park. "We believe that the construction of this facility and the continued development of the industrial area will allow for the residents of the City of Ramsey to enjoy numerous employment opportunities," stated City Administrator Ryan Schroeder. "With this most recent business development effort, the City has seen the creation of over 200 jobs in the community, not including the facilities currently under construction." ........................... Training Programs Available from Anokal Ramsey Community College The Center for Business and Industry at the Anoka/Ramsey Commlmity College is an educational resource available to your business. The Center for Business and Industry will work with your organization or business to provide the programs and services that you need for the continued development of your employees. These services include: needs assessments, provision of the required service, and any follow-up training that may be required. All of the seminars are conducted at the College Develop- ment Center located on the Coon Rapids Campus at 11200 Mississippi Boulevard N.W., Coon Rapids, Minnesota 55433. The ground breaking for this facility was conducted on August 13, 1997, at the new facility's location along the southside of McKinley Street Northwest in the Ramsey Business Park. The addition of this large scale, multi- tennant facility will allow for the City of Ramsey to offer a full range of different opportunities to relocating and expanding businesses. This facility will provide bays ranging from 12,000 square feet to the entire building area of 48,000 square feet. "We believe that the development of these types of facilities will allow for the continued growth of the City of Ramsey's business community and will allow for the City to continue to be able to provide for the future needs of a wide variety of businesses" explained Ramsey Mayor Tom Gamec. "In the future we may see more companies wanting to rent space instead of having direct ownership. This new facility will fit those require- ments." "After our very positive experience with the construction of the Heritage Millwork facility, we reviewed the market trends in the City of Ramsey and determined that a facility with larger rental bays would be an ideal fit for the local business environment." "This trend proved to be correct with the lease of over 12,000 square feet before the building was completed," stated Julian Johnson, the owner of the new facility. "The larger bays will complement the currently existing Ramsey Business Park Center operated by Sharp and Assocjates that provides for bays up to 3,000 square feet. This facility will also allow for companies that currently operate their own facility to rent a larger space and get away from the added requirements of building ownership" noted Ryan Schroeder, Ramsey City Adminis- trator. In the future, we may see this become a more common Occurrence as tax laws and processes of doing business change." Since the facility has not yet been completed, the opportu- nity exists for the space to be redesigned to meet a company's exact needs at a more economical construction cost than a future renovation of a facility.
