Important Primary Connections/Alternates

a. Ramsey Town Center

This connection is approximately 2,000 lineal feet long. This segment
begins at the south Highway 10 right of way, just west of The Diamonds
Sports Bar, and proceeds south toward the Mississippi River. The
connection is part of the Ramsey Town Center project and IS going to be
constructed by that project. The north 1000 feet will meander around
two stormwater ponds, that are also included as part of the Ramsey
Town Center project. This trail is intended to be the connection to a
bridge over Highway 10 and the railroad tracks, making it possible to
directly access the Ramsey Town Center and the Northstar Rail Station.
A Mississippi River overlook is planned as part of this connection.

b. Pedestrian Bridge over Highway 10 and Railroad Tracks

The Ramsey Town Center project also indicates a Pedestrian Bridge over
Highway 10 and the Railroad tracks. This bridge would provide a
connection to the regional trail system from the proposed Northstar Rail
project along with the proposed 2,400 residential units and 1.65 million
square feet of industrial, commercial and institutional buildings that are
part of the Ramsey Town Center project. The City of Ramsey and the
developer are responsible for funding the bridge connection to the
regional park.

c. Cross connection to Riverdale Drive

This is a 1,150 foot shortcut connection from the existing trail on
Riverdale Drive, to approximately the mid-point oUhe Mississippi West
Regional Park. The area ofthis segment is open space that was formerly
used for agricultural purposes. Construction of,this segment would
occur when funds to develop the park are received. In addition, there is
a . need to include appropriate signing and striping where it crosses
Riverdale Drive.

Page 9

27
