SEGMENT 5 - CITY OF ANOKA <br /> <br /> <br />\ <br />- <br />~\ <br />.0 1000 <br />I I <br /> <br />SEGMENT 5 - CITY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />Segment 5 could require approximately 1.10 miles of on-street path in addition to <br />utilizing 0.60 miles to existing sidewalk. Reference Appendix Sheets 6, 7 and 8 of 8. <br />This segment begins at the west end of Benton Street and is evaluated in parts as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Designation of the trail along Benton Street will be at minimal cost. Cost will <br />include installation of signage that dearly identifies the route. <br /> <br /> <br />1. The first part of segment 5 is approximately 5,100 lineal feet long following <br />Benton Street, starting at the west end of Benton Street and ending at the <br />intersection of Benton Street and Levee Avenue. The trail will utilize the existing <br />onstreet alignment, but will be signed as a designated trail route. <br /> <br />. Benton Street from the cul-de-sac at the west end of Benton Street to Shaw <br />Avenue right of way is 50.0 feet wide. From Shaw Avenue to Levee Avenue the <br />right of way is 49.5 feet. The existing street width from the west end to Shaw <br />Avenue is 34 feet and from Shaw Avenue to Levee Avenue, the street is 24 feet <br />wide. The segment of Benton that is 24 feet wide between Shaw Avenue and <br />Levee Avenue will likely be widened in the future to the City of Anoka Standard <br />of 30 feet. <br /> <br />2. The secondpart of segment 5 consists of 850 feet of existing 5 foot sidewalk. <br />This segment begins at the intersection of Levee Avenue a~d Benton Street. The <br />end point of this segment is Ferry Street or TH 169. <br /> <br />3. The third part of this segment utilizes existing sidewalk along Ferry Street from <br />Benton Street southeasterly toward the Mississippi River.
