BASIS OF ESTIMATE <br /> <br />Estimated costs for trail construction are based on recent comparable project costs as follows: <br /> <br />= <br /> <br />$22 per lineal foot <br />$12 per lineal foot <br /> <br />Bituminous Trail <br />Aggregate Surface Trail <br /> <br />= <br /> <br />Other estimated costs vary on a per segment basis. Refer to "Cost Estimate and Summary of <br />Work" for each individual segment. <br /> <br />Easement acquisition costs and quantities are not included as part of this report. <br /> <br />VIII. DEVELOPMENT, FINANCE AND POLICY PLAN <br /> <br />As the regional parks and recreation agency, Anoka County will be the lead entity to <br />coordinate trail alignment and development throughout the proposed corridor. The county will <br />work with the local jurisdictions, Anoka and Ramsey, to ensure that the trail alignment and trail <br />development is planned and incorporated into future development projects. The Cities of <br />Anoka and Ramsey, by adoption of the corridor plan, will provide for recognition and <br />acceptance of trail development opportunities. Incorporating this feasibility study into the local, <br />as well as the County's Comprehensive Plans, will ensure that efforts are made to successfully <br />plan for and developthe proposed trail. Additionally, the county will forward this study to the <br />Metropolitan Council for their adoption as part of the Mississippi River Regional Trail master <br />plan. <br /> <br />Upon adoption of this trail corridor, the County and local jurisdictions will hove a variety of <br />funding options to provide for trail development. Trail developmentwill be eligible for regional <br />dollars from the State of Minnesota and the Metropolitan Councilthrough the regional Capital <br />Page 21 <br /> <br />39 <br />
