.1

The City of Ramsey continues to experience noticeable population
growth in the 1990's. The City of Ramsey has submitted several
plan amendments to the Metropolitan Council for amending the
City's urban service area. These amendments are necessary to
accommodate additional residential development.

Potential land use issues from adjacent local governments were
also summarized in this working paper. These issues were
identified by meeting with City staff from the respective local
governments and by meeting with the City of Ramsey staff.

There appear to be four major land use issues related to adjacent
local governments:

1. The planned land uses and site design criteria for the Anoka
Enterprise Park and the possible extension of McKinley
street.

2. The potential for future commercial land uses at the
intersection of TH 116 and TH 47.

3. The potential Dayton and Ramsey Mississippi River bridge
crossing.

4. The City of Elk River land use and public facility planning
activities that the City of Ramsey may wish to monitor.

LIST OF PREVIOUS PLANS

The previous plans included as part of this review are listed
below:

* Ramsey TownShip Comprehensive Plan, 1973;
* CAB Interceptor study Committee Report, 1976;
* Urban Planning District study Report, 1976;
* Revision of 1976 Urban Planning District study Report, 1978;
* Comprehensive Plan, 1980;
* Comprehensive Plan Amendment, 1989;
* Comprehensive Plan Amendment, 1990;
* Comprehensive Plan Amendment, 1992;
* Comprehensive Plan Amendment, 1993.

Working Paper #1
City of Ramsey Comprehensive Plan Update
Land Use Element

3
