Update on Elk Park Center The proposed Elk Park Center com- mercial planned unit development was presented to the city council on October 26,1993. The meeting was ascheduled public hearing to receive public com- ment and allow the council to discuss the proposed commercial development. Based on concerns relating to traffic, storm drainage and safety of children, the city council voted 3-2 directing staff to prepare a resolution of denial citing the city council's concerns. At the November 15, 1993, city coun- cil meeting, the Resolution of Denial was presented to the council; however, in response to a request from Mayor Duitsman and the developer, a motion was passed to delay action on the Reso- lution of Denial until the December 13, city council meeting when the mayor v.ill be in attendance. In addition, the council directed staff to work with the developers to try to resolve concerns stated in the Resolution of Denial.
