1.1) City Code Article 150.014G Final Treatment and Disposal: -_, <br />Alternative Systems provides sewage treatment solutions <br />for those site or soil conditions when a standard system <br />cannot be installed. This code does not approve of locating <br />systems on marginal sites, but rather offers procedures for <br />upgrading existing systems so located. <br />1.2) Ramsey's sewage disposal sytems code prohibits the installa- <br />tion of standard on -site systems within four (4) feet above <br />the water table or bedrock and the City's subdivision ordi- <br />nance prohibits development of property which does not have <br />at least 25% of contiguous Class I land available on each lot. <br />Class I land is land on which the water table remains greater <br />than six (6) feet below the surface through the year. <br />2) The Ramsey City Code requires a permit for installation, <br />alteration, repair or extension of any individual sewage <br />disposal system and a site evaluation by the Ramsey Plumbing <br />Inspector. <br />2.1) City Code Article 150.013C requires that applications for <br />on -site sewage disposal systems require a site plan, complete <br />plans for the system and supporting data attesting to the <br />compliance with the City standards. <br />2.2) Ordinance 79 -3 requires all new developments to contain at <br />least 25% contiguous Class I land available on each lot for <br />construction of on -site sewage disposal systems., <br />2.3) Following the issuance of a permit, City Code Article 150.015A <br />requires that the Ramsey Plumbing Inspector inspect all systems <br />prior to being covered and give final approval. <br />3) City Code Article 150.016 covers the maintenance, cleaning <br />and repairs of on -site systems. <br />3.1) City Code Article 150.016 requires that the plumbing inpec- <br />tor inspect all on -site systems every. 24 months and certify <br />that scum and /or sludge levels are at acceptable levels. <br />3.2) City Code Article 150.015B requires cleaning and inspection <br />of all systems every 24 months. City code also limits the <br />distance between the scum mat and outlet to a minimum of <br />three inches and the minimum distance between the top of <br />the sludge and the outlet to six inches. <br />4) The City of Ramsey initiated a record keeping system in 1976, <br />which covers all new and /or renovated'on -site systems. Permit <br />application data and as -built information on all systems are <br />maintained. <br />4.1) Presently the City maintains records on complaints and system <br />repairs. <br />71a 10 -13 -81 <br />
