4. TIMING OF UTILITIES
At the present time the City of Ramsey recognizes that it has
been assigned a 1990 wastewater flow of 0.57 mgd in the Water
Quality Management Policy Plan. However, due to strip develop -
ment along T.H. 10 and Sunfish Lake Boulevard, the City plans
to extend trunk sewer facilities to the 1990 Urban Area as shown
on Map 13. It is the intent of the City to provide services to
the existing developments and expand from these areas as develop-
ment warrants. The City does not foresee that the entire 1990
Urban Area will develop by 1990 and it is presently projecting
that the maximum flow from this area will not exceed 0.57 mgd.
However, the City's position is to avoid having regional agencies
place limitations on building permits and development due to limited
flows. Therefore, if the economic conditions change in the next
few years the City will request the Metropolitan Council to increase
Ramsey's flow allocation for 1990. By that time the Anoka Waste-
water Treatment Plant may be expanded or phased out and the lower
segment of the CAB Interceptor should be constructed.
A timing element was included in Ramsey's Comprehensive Sewer
Plan. The original schedule anticipated making municipal sewer
available to all properties within the urban area within eight
years. However, due to the present economic status, it is
anticipated that one half of the planning area as shown on Map
6 will receive trunk utilities by 1990. Table 20 refers to seg-
ments of the trunk sewer line which are identified on Map 13A,
and their anticipated construction.
Table 20
TIMING OF TRUNK SEWERS
SEGMENT CONSTRUCTION PERIOD
c -r
d -x
c -b
b -a
d -e
75
1983
1984 -1988
1984
1984 -1985
1990
Installation of water and storm sewer will undoubtedly accompany
the sewer construction, so the figures presented in Table 13 will
also apply to the other utilities.
C. The facility has two turf runways: 2700'
x 150' and 2200' x 150', and it provides service to opera ars,,
of light single engine propeller aircraft.
