Minnesota Department of Aeronautics (MDA) regulations, Aero 13,
the Mississippi River has been designed for seaplane operations.
In response to the known need for an airport in the vicinity of
Ramsey, the City studied the possibility of expanding the Gateway
North Industrial Park airport to meet this need. The study,
which was completed in 1979, indicates that ground space limita-
tions make expansion of the present airport impractical. Ramsey
has since completed another study designed to identify other sites
in the City which could serve the needs of a "basic utility" air-
port. This study was completed in January of 1981, which concluded
that the General Mills property located in western Ramsey sur-
rounding Lake Itasca had available ground space to develop a
"basic utility" airport.
75a
7 -9 -81
9 -28 -81
10 -13 - 81
1 -7 -82
