The future transportation system in Ramsey includes more choices <br />in modes and routes such as commuter rail and a future Mississippi bridge crossing. <br /> <br />Housing <br />An assessment of the City's housing stock indicates that there isa need forniore diverse housing stock in order to provide life~ <br />cycle housing for people of all ages and incomes. In orderto address these issues, the Housing Plan specifically discusses <br />goals. and policies designed to create a balanced supply of housing types and styles. . . <br /> <br />Sewer,. Waterdnd Public Facilities <br />The Sewer, Water and PUblic Facilities Plans are included as part of the Comprehensive Plan to ensure that the City provides <br />adequate infrastiucture and quality public services, such as fire, police, schools and administration, to serve the community. <br />Each chapterlooksat current conditions and projects future needs in order to plan for systems that meet future demands. <br />Theseplansalsoaddress is~uesand conflicts related to MUSA and on~site septic and well systems. <br /> <br />Park,Recreation and Natural Resources. <br />The Park,. Recreation and Open Space. and. the Environmental Protection and Resource Management Plans recognize and <br />emphasize the importance of preserving the City's abundant natural resources and making these resources accessible through <br />the parks and trails system. Specifically, the plan identifies Ramsey's natural features, the programs aimed at managing or <br />protecting those resources, and the variety of parks, trails and recreation areas that focus on these assets. <br /> <br />MississippiRiver CriticdlAreaCorridor . <br />The Critical Area Plan establishes a vision for the Mississippi corridor and provides goals, policies and strategies forprotect~ <br />ing the river's resources, improving public access, providing recreational opportunities and preserving historical and cultural <br />elements. Theplan assists the City in making decisions consistent with regional. goals and policies regarding the Mississippi. <br /> <br />Economic Development . <br />The Economic DeveIoPIllent Plan identifies current conditions and issues related to the provision of jobs and services within <br />the City. The plan lists the Ramseyl s goals, policies and strategies designed to encourage economic growth and job creation. <br /> <br />Community Identity <br />Thechapter on community identity focuses on maintaining the existing rural character of the community and improving the <br />City's image along the Highway 10 corridoL The plan includes goals, policies and strategies that the City has as guides in <br />making decisions that promote a stronger serise of place arid community identity. <br /> <br />Implementation <br />The implementation strategy identifies and describes programs andproGedurd the City will useto achieve the vision for the <br />future City of Ramsey.
