On Page 31 replace the last paragraph with "A concern with rural residential development is <br />the reliance on local aquifers for clean drinking water. Increasing the number of private <br />septic systems increases the possibility of groundwater contamination. The City needs to <br />closely monitor groundwater for contamination levels. " <br /> <br />10. On Page 34 in the first paragraph under subheading Urban Residential insert after the fist <br />sentence "Exceptions to this rule may occur in areas where pre-existing large lot <br />development surrounds vacant urban lands and soils are well suitedfor on-site septic <br />systems." <br /> <br />11. On Page 35 the second to the last sentence in the third paragraph is amended to read "This <br />open space would not be left as unmanaged open space or an outlot but required to be <br />preserved as permanent open space through a land preservation tool such as a land trust or <br />permanent conservation easement. " <br /> <br />12. On Page 40 under the subheading Places to ShOD the following paragraph should replace the <br />existing same paragraph: <br /> <br />"16th Avenue and Highwav 47: The commercial node at 167th Avenue and Highway 47 <br />functions as a neighborhood service center; however, the viability of this commercial <br />node is somewhat unstable due to the low density development within its primary market <br />area and the lack of adequate public facilities. The surrounding area is guided for future <br />development ofa rural character. Due to the struggling nature of this area, the City <br />shouldfacilitate a redevelopment study of this node to better determine a more viable <br />land use." <br /> <br />13. On Page 42 under the subheading General Goals for Places to Work add goal # 6 to read <br />"To ensure adequate means of transportation and transit for employees to be able to get to <br />and from places to work" <br /> <br />14. On Page 43 add policy # 10 to read "Work with the Anoka County Traveler and the <br />Metropolitan Council Transit Organization to address transit and employee transportation <br />issues.
