MEMORANDUM

DA1E:
TO:
FROM:
RE:

December 3, 1992

James Gromberg, Project Manager

Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator
Metropolitan Council Comprehensive Plan Amendment

As you are aware, on November 19, 1992 the Metropolitan Council approved consideration of our
recently submitted Comprehensive Plan Amendment. Attached for your review is the letter of
approval dated November 24, 1992 from the Metropolitan Council Chair, Dottie Rieto\v, as well as
the Metropolitan Council Staff Memorandum to the Metropolitan Council Community Development
Committee and the Metropolitan Council Board. Within this staff memorandum is shown a map
depicting the Ramsey MUSA expansion which is part of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment.
You will note that while this map apparently depicts the expansion south of Highway #10, it does
not include the Wood Pond Hills area or the area which is to include the Waltek Manufacturing
Plant. In conversation with Mr. Steven Schwanke of the Metropolitan Council, after the Board
approval, he noted that the lack of inclusion of these two areas was an error and it was the intent of
their staff and the Council to approve those two additions. Therefore, I request that you insure that
our zoning maps are amended to include the Metropolitan Council approval pursuant to their staff
document with the amendments for the Wood Pond Hills and Waltek additions.

leer
