I found out earlier today at City <br />Hall that if sewer and water comes, those residents in the safety zone can not <br />subdivide their one acre lots to offset the cost of sewer and water, how will <br />we be canpensated? <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel - ~e AirJ;X>rt CaIlmission has looked at the issue of subdivision <br />in the safety zone. ~ere are WB;{S to pr~ide oompensation for those residents <br />in the safety zone in the event sewer and water comes to that area. ~e City <br />is looking at an airport plan, there are hurdles to cr0SS before it would <br />beoome a project, this for\lll is to get those concerns out in the open. People <br />fran Crystal have approached this Comnission to say that their properties have <br />appreciated. People have said that because of airJ;X>rt and industrial <br />developnent, their home values increased. <br /> <br />Ramona O'l))nnell - Residents in the approach area are not going to benefit. I <br />heard planes are supposed to fly at 400', pilots are not abiding ~ that when <br />you can look up and see the people in the plane, what will it be like when the <br />air traffic doubles? <br /> <br />Ccmnissioner Sieber - Appreciate the cxmnents being made and keep in mind that <br />a decision will not be tased on only the eaonanic considerations. ~ vote will <br />reflect what I think the people in Ramsey want. I spent the first 10 years of BY life across the street fran the <br />Crystal VFW, nw father's hane was the first one to be built there and he had no <br />trouble selling his hane. When Crystal's aiqx>rtdeveloped, that area was all <br />farmland, developnent came after the aiqx>rt. I own and tase an airplane at <br />Gateway.
