Voting No: None. <br /> <br />C2~P :/!2: <br /> <br />Geese l'-6!,'PI: c.t fUIT Five- Hil'" eel' ('('1"-[(' <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley recalled that Council previouslY introduced an ordinance that <br />\-rould give Council the Buthority to permit the shooting of geese at the Rum <br />River Hills Golf Course by approved organizations. <br /> <br />Ruth Dahlin - stated that her family is very upset at the thought of <br />shooting innocent water fO\o.,l; that the shooting of these geese will not <br />prevent them from coming beck to the golf courSf, in future yec:rs. Ms. <br />Dahlin noted that there are only a few Yleeks of golfing activity If:ft jn <br />this season and requested that Council find an alternative solution to the <br />geese population other than shooting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson stated that he has talked to Wes Bulen) developer of <br />the golf course) and he was surprised to hear that there was a geese <br />population problem at the golf course. Mayor Reimann stated that even <br />though DNR claims that a controlled hunt is the most effective ""BY to <br />control geese population) he feels that. shooting the geese should only be <br />used as a last resort t 0 solving the prob lem. <br /> <br />It was a unanimous consensus of the Council not to adopt the proposed <br />ordinance to allow the shooting of geese at the Rum River Eills Golf <br />Course. <br /> <br />Case :/~3: <br /> <br />Selection of insurance a~ent of recorc for the Cit" of <br />Ramse" . <br /> <br />Mr. Conway Olson) Ramsey's current agent of record was present tQ give a <br />presentation on insurance coverage for the City of Ramsey for the upc om~nf, <br />year. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley stated that the city received three responses <br />the the ad for an agent of record. The applicants are T.C. Field End <br />Company) FBS Insurance) and Badtrath and Associc:tes. Badtrath and <br />Associates was the low bidder. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that Mr. Michael Hadtrath has filed for a Council seat t <br />and if elected, this contract for agent of record may be viewed as a <br />conflict of interest. <br /> <br />Mr. Michael liadtrath "~spresent and stated that he had hoped this <br />insurance issue would be resolved before the candidacy filing dates began. <br />Mr. Hadtrath stated that his bid meets all of the qualifications) that he <br />is the low bidder) that he intends to doa good job for Ramsey and that he <br />should be awarded the contract for agent of record. Mr. Hactrath stated <br />that he does not feel there is a conflict of interest at the present time) <br />nor will there be one if he is elected to Council. But should there be <br />one) he is prepared to take the appropriBte action necessary. <br /> <br />Mr. Conway Olson ofT. C.
