Legislation to prohibit the manufacture of plastic hand guns which <br />can pass through metal detectors. <br /> <br />City Council and staff encouraged Senator Dahl to work on the following: <br /> <br /> a. <br /> b. <br /> c. <br /> d. <br /> e. <br /> f. <br /> g. <br />"i! h. <br />.. <br />jt <br /> i. <br /> <br />Additional bridge crossings in the northern area to alleviate some <br />of the transportation problems. <br />Indemnification of local units of government from liability <br />resulting from development rights imposed by other agencies. <br />Support Northern Mayors attempt to obtain more funding for <br />transportation improvements in the northern metro area. <br />Support the policies of the Association of Minnesota <br />Municipalities. <br />Work on having auto vehicle sales tax used for what it was <br />intended. <br />Work on passing a bill that will enable Anoka County to borrow <br />funds for transporation matters. <br />Legislation regarding additional landfill sites should not allow <br />private operators to establish sites. <br />Continue efforts on State aid and fiscal disparity formulas. <br />Stronger legislation regarding snowmobile use along State <br />highways. <br /> <br />Senator Dahl requested that Ramsey provide him with specific information <br />and suggestions regarding State aid, fiscal disparity, snowmobiie <br />regulations and Ramsey's supporting documentation regarding the <br />unsuitability of Anoka County for additional landfill siting. <br /> <br />Case ~7: Receive Recommendation From Personnel Committee And City <br />Administrator To Fill The Pos it ions Of Acc ount in~ Clerk and <br />Recentionist: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to <br />extend an offer to Ms. Jennifer Swendsen to fill the position of Accounting <br />Clerk with a starting salary of $7.10 per hour. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca and <br />Pearson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Sorteberg and Cox. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to <br />extend an offer to Ms. Kathleen Johnson to fill the position of <br />Receptionist with a starting salary of $5.81 per hour. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Counci1members DeLuca and <br />Pearson. Voting No: None.
