<br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public bearing on <br />Tuesday,December 1, 1987 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen <br />Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Dick Carson's request for <br />preliminary plat approval of Flintwood Hills 5th Addition. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman <br />Mr. Roy Shumway <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. Jim Holm <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br />Mr. Michael Terry <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Anne Norris <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public bearing to order at 7 :34 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />::\, <br />'~ <br />.1 <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Carson - Stated that the subject area is part of the Flintwood <br />Hills PUD and when it was originally platted. these 3 outlots (proposed now <br />to be Flintwood 5) were intended to be developed at some point in time with <br />4-unit buildings; that concept was then changed to cluster homes. The plan <br />is to now develop those 3 outlots with a 4-unit building. a 6-unit building <br />and a 5,000 square foot commercial office building. <br /> <br />Stan Data - 5510 140tb Lane N.W. - Stated his property borders Lot 1 of the <br />proposed plat; that be is present speaking on bebalf of bis neigbbors also; <br />apologizes if bis following statement offends anybody but he is trying to <br />protect bis home equity, security and quality of life: <br /> <br />"I regard M'r. Carson's request for building apartment buildings and <br />office building right next to my lot and my neighbors lots as a public <br />provocation of me and my neighbors. Back in November 1983, ! and my <br />neighbors'stood before tbis commission with Mr. Carson present and stated <br />publicly and in writing tbe reasons why higb density housing and commercial <br />property immediately bordering our bomes was and still is unacceptable to <br />us. He and possibly this commission bave apparently forgotten these <br />reasons since ~e are gatbered together again today to discuss the same <br />issue.
