Mr. Volt said he had not talked to <br />them and would like to have a hearing to have it rezoned. Someone built on <br />on lot 1 and he owns lot 2 and it could be a bad situation for their sales. <br />Mr. Klohs said this was t he first time it has been pro po sed and he would <br />like to look at it first. Chairman Sorteberg said this is an isolated <br />commercial in the center of the city. They have the el:evations from the <br />plat. Mr. Pittman said they would want a soil boring test. Mr. Fossum. said <br />it could have changed since they dug the ditches. Mr. Volt said the area that <br />is wet now is very small and could be drained. Mr. Pittman made a motion to <br />table it until the committee can go out and look at the lot. Mr. Voit <br />asked what he could do to help get it ready. Mr. Gamec suggested that he <br />bring in ideas of what he wants there. Chairman Sorteberg said they lose <br />control whem they zone it commercial. Mr. Voit asked what if a church wanted <br />to go in that corner. Mr. GameC amend ed the motion to bring in a sketch <br />plan of the uses of the property and soil borings as required by the city <br />engineer. Mr. Voit said i.t cannot be built as residental and could only <br />be used for commercial. Mr. Gamec said if the soil boring tests show it, <br />it could be changed. Chairman Sorteberg called for a vote on the amendment. <br />It was carried unan1mously~ Chairman Sorteberg called for a vote on the <br />motion. Sorteberg, Fossum, Zimmerman, Klohs and Pittman voted yes. <br />Mr. Gamec passed. The motion was carried. <br /> <br />David Schmedeke was present in regards to moving a building to Highway #10. <br />He said it would be by the railroad tracks' behind where he sells cara and he <br />will use it for storage for the time being. It is located on Highways #10 and <br />#56. He is going to build a new }':'Ole building. Mr. Pittman asked if he has <br />a license to operate a used car business and Mr. Schmedeke said no he did not <br />know he needed one. Mrs. Wunn said they cannot turn off there many times <br />because people are parking there to look at the cars. Mr. Pittman said there <br />were trailer houses and it blocked the side of the turn. He thought the <br />Building Inspector had to pass on the building. It will be 40 feet by 60 feet. <br />Mr. Gamec said there was a motion passed at the Council meeting that no pole <br />buildings be built in the industrial and commercial area without the approval <br />of the Council. Mr. Schmedeke said he was told to come to the Plarming & Zoning <br />Commission meeting. Mr. Pittman said he has to.get a pemit for what he wanted <br />to use it for. Chairman Sorteberg said the Council has to make the decision <br />but would like a recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Commission. <br />Mr. Pittman told Mr. Schmedeke he could go to the line of the railroad tracks. <br />Mr. Schmedeke said he has about 400 feet of width at the tracks. Mr. Pittman <br />made a motion to have this checked out with the Building Inspector and the <br />location of the building on the lot and the type of building before they make <br />a recommendation. He said any JX'le building will have to go through them and <br />the Council. He also suggested Mr. Schmedeke' check on the license requirements. <br />Mr- Schmedeke said the building inspector told him to cane to this meeting. <br />Mr. Fossum seconded the motion. Chairman Sorteberg called for a vote. Fossum, <br />Pittman, Zimmerman, Klohs voted yes. Sorteberg and Gamec voted no. The <br />motion was carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Sid Schaumberg was present and said the city attorney told him he <br />could not get a road in unless the City of Ramsey helps him. Mr. Zimmerman <br />explained that Mr. Schaumberg has SO acres and no access acvoss the property. <br />Mr. Fricke was present and said the best way to come off of it is through <br />Ramsey Terrace.
