.

.

.

control and police control are common for this corner of Ramsey; every time the
City wants to bring in something controversial, it ends up in this oorner of
Ramsey. Noted that Council has been giving this area some added consideration
in the past couple of years. Irx;{uired as to how this particular piece of land
came to IrniN's attention. Irx;{uired if anyone associated with City Council or
Ci ty Goverrment suggesteed this particular piece of land to K'lWN.

Mr. 'lhorpe - Replied that nobody connected with the City suggested the subj ect
property; it was for sale and it fell within an area where K'IWN felt they would
have an even chance for FAA approval and a 100% chance for FCC approval.

Mr. Fries - Noted that the geographic window IrniN had to work with was very
limited; K'lWN would love to ranain at it's present location, but that is
impossible. IrniN has to move, but not more than 5 or 6 miles; the Subject
property happened to be for sale and nobody associated with City Goverrment had
any affect on IcrWN choosing that property.

Mark Johnson - 17301 Unicorn - stated that the roads in the area are not built
to accanodate the heavy equipnent that will be needed to construct such a large
tower.

Mr. 'lhorpe - Replied that K'lWN would need no additional services fran Ramsey.
'!he tower will be hauled in sections l::N vehicles that will meet local zOning on
roads. A pulley &ystem is used to pull each section up and attach it.

Mrs. Hoffman - 17313 Wolverine - Stated that her sister lives l::N wcen and she
can hear their transnissions on her telephone.

Mr. 'lhorpe - Replied that wcen is AM and stations of that lX'Wer will do that.
Noted that he knows how to solve the problan and will be glad to do so.

Steve CUrry - 9055 l75th Lane N"l - Ir:quired if the tower would interfere with
satellite T.V. and other radio broadcasts. IIX;Iuired as to the affect the tower
will have on property values.

Mr. 'lhorpe - Replied that he has been in the broadcasting business for 17 years
and he will guarantee, in writing, that if a reception problan is caused, IrniN
will correct it. Mr. 'lhorpe read fran an appraisor report regarding a similar
situation in Wright County; a residence valued at $195,000, one block fran the
Shoreview towers, had not suffered any devaluation based on sales records. Mr.
'lhorpe noted that there is an extrane amount of developnent happening at K'lWN's
present tower location - River's Bend and Flintwood II - this seems to prove
out that properties are not losing their value.

Steve CUrry - Stated that his brother has been in the electronics field for 18
years and is currently pursuing an engineering degree; his brother says that
with 100,000 watts, reception of Olannel 11 will be impossible with a regular
antenna and there will be possible interference to cable and satellite
reception.

Mr. 'lhorpe - Replied that IrniN's current operation has two satellite dishes and
the entire music format canes fran satellite; K'lWN is receiving no interference
under it's present tower. IcrWN does not interfere with T.V. reception, even
June 25, 1985
