Observations: The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Engineer and city of Ramsey staff have determined the contract needs to be revised in accordance with MnDOT Specification 1402.5, Extra Work, and 1907, Surplus Material. Change Order No. 43 does not impact contract time and covers all known and anticipated costs attributable to the work covered by this change. If the Contractor incurs unknown and unanticipated additional work that affects costs or impacts the critical path, the contractor reserves the right to request an adjustment to the contract amount or contract time in accordance with MNDOT 1402. Attached is a copy of Change Order No. 43, which has been signed by representatives from MnDOT and Ames Construction. Following City Council approval, city staff will sign the Change Order and submit it to MnDOT. Alternatives: Adopt Resolution #25-144 approving Change Order No. 43 for Improvement Project #20-11, Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements. Funding Source: The Extra Work associated with Change Order No. 43 will increase project costs in the amount of $32,982.21. The city will be responsible for paying $11,873.34 of this amount, which will be paid from sanitary sewer funds. The remaining amount of $21,108.87 will be paid from miscellaneous project funds. The MnDOT project engineer and city staff have reviewed and approved the costs associated with Change Order No. 43. Recommendation: Engineering staff recommend approving Change Order No. 43. Outcome/Action: Adopt Resolution #25-144 approving Change Order No. 43 for Improvement Project #20-11, Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements.
