<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that the charter can be amended to adopt State Statute <br />429: no election on the issue would be required if the citizens do not <br />object to the amendment. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox stated that the Oamrnission should encourage Council to <br />initiate adopting Statutory Requirements of Chapter 429 into the Charter. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg authorized City Staff to prepare more input and facts <br />regarding this issue for Oamrnission review at their next regular meeting. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Fults and seconded by Oamrnissioner Cox to approve <br />regular Economic Development Commission meeting minutes dated October 9, <br />1984. <br /> <br />Motion car ried. Voting Yes: Chai rman Greenberg, Oamrnissioners Hardin, <br />FUlts, Miller, Muller, Cox, Wagner and Vevea. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioners Schmidt and Schneider. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS CONTINUED <br /> <br />Case #1: Subcommittee Re};X)rts (Continued): <br />b} Economic- <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that he has talked to developers in the City and <br />they are pushing for the Rum River Bridge Crossing: there is a Food 'n' <br />Fuel coming in on the corner of Hwy. 47 and Industrial Blvd.: south of that <br />location there is a possibili ty of a strip center, an aparbnent complex and <br />office/warehouse. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that Economic subcommittee membership needs <br />review; there should be more members on it in order to conduct effective <br />official meetings. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that Mr. Lyle McLaughlin is responsible for so <br />much of the development in this Ci ty and he should be considered for <br />appointment to the Rum River Bridge Crossing Oamrnittee. <br /> <br />c} Finance- <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />Case #2: Use Of CDBG Funds: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris reviewed with the Commission her report on the County's response <br />to proposed uses of rnBG funds by the CDBG Funds Uses Subcommittee. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox stated that he is supportive of a YMCA facility which <br />would benefit low and moderate income families and it would enhance <br />existing development and encourage more development along Hwy. 47. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />
