<br />. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the ~roposed increase to minimum wage and noted <br />that the last increase to minJ.mum wage forced businesses to go self-service <br />and eliminate those minimum wage employment positions; a teen-age r making <br />$3.00+/hour probably has more discretionary income than a family man making <br />$l2/hour. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Muller and seconded by Canmi.ssioner Ippel directing <br />Ms. Norris to draft a letter from the Ramsey Economic Development <br />Commission to legislators opposing proposed legislation having to do with a <br />11: 00 p.m. working hour curfew for students and an increase to minimum <br />wage. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Muller, <br />Kurak, Vevea, Gorecki, Ippel and Fults. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioners Wagner and Hardin. <br /> <br />b) Publicity Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel reported that work is progressing on the video of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />c) Econanic and Finance Subconnnittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that the undecided issues in Ramsey, sewer and <br />water and airport improvements, creates problems with respect to <br />prospective incoming businesses wanting posi ti ve answers. <br /> <br />d) Joint Planning and Zoning/Economic Developnent Subcommittee - <br /> <br />. Ms. Norris reported that this subconunittee has not met recently. <br /> <br />Commission consensus was to appoint Mr. Steve Gorecki to serve on the <br />Econanic and Finance Subconunittee. <br /> <br />Case #2: Reappoint Conmissioners Kurak. Vevea and Wagner: <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Fults and seconded by Commissioner Muller to <br />recorranend the reappointment of Ken Wagner, Bernie Vevea and Tom Kurak to <br />the Econanic Developnent Commission for terms to expire January 31, 1990. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Muller, <br />Kurak, Vevea, Gorecki, Ippel and Fults. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioners Wagner and Hardin. <br /> <br />Case #3: Request To Establish Development And Tax Increment Financing <br />Districts: Case Of Mr. Robert Muller: <br /> <br />:. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Muller presented plans for the new strip center on the south <br />side of l67th and the grocery/liquor/bank/hardware businesses on the north <br />side of l67th.
