GENERAL ELECTION DAY November 8, 1988 You are eligible to vote if you are 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the United States and a resi- dent of Minnesota for at least 20 days. You may register to vote on the day of the election, however, the following authorized identification is necessary: 1. Driver's license or receipt showing correct address. 2. Learner's permit or receipt showing correct address. 3. Minnesota identification card showing correct address. 4. "Notice of ineffective registration." 5. Valid registration in the same precinct at another address. 6. College students may use any of the following which show their address in the precinct: -Student fee statement -Student identification card -Student registration card 7. Oath of a voter registered in the same precinct. You may not use: 1. Tax statements. 2. Checkbooks. 3. Mortgages. ABSENTEE BALLOTS FOR GENERAL ELECTION AVAILABLE Absentee Ballots for the General Election on November 8th are available at the Anoka County Auditor's Office. Voters may register to vote with proper identification when voting absentee. The Auditor's office will be open for absentee voting Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours on Saturday, November 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday, November 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ASSISTANCE TO HANDICAPPED VOTERS All polling places must meet accessibility standards unless no available building can be made accessible. Voters who are unable to enter a polling place may, with the assistance of two election judges of different political parties, register and vote without leaving their vehicles. WHERE TO VOTE The City of Ramsey is divided into the three precincts shown on the map on page 4. Precinct #1 residents vote at the Ramsey Elementary School at 15000 Nowthen Blvd. N.W. Precinct #2 residents vote at the Ramsey Municipal Center at 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W. Precinct #3 residents vote at the St. Anthony Gun Club at 16128 Variolite Street N.W. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the September 13th Primary Election. Voters are urged to keep this information for the General election to be held in November. PRECINCT #3 SPECIAL ELECTION Local Option Tax Levy/Ind. School Dist. #728 The Ramsey Residents living in the Elk River School District will be voting on a Tax Levy on the November 8 Election Ballot. (See sample below) SPECIAL ELECTION LOCAL OPTION TAX LEVY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 728 November 8, 1988 Vote on the proposition stated below: The Board of Independent School District 728, Elk River, Min- nesota has proposed to increase its 1988 General Educa- tion Levy by 5 mills times the most recent taxable valuation of the district. The additional millage will be used to finance school operations and will raise $661,350.86 in the first year it is to be levied. A levy of up to the same 5 mills would be authorized each year thereafter for the next 4 years unless otherwise revoked or reduced as provided by law.
