<br />accept filing of affidaVits of candidacy for the office
<br />of Mayor .f<;>r a 2 year term and two (2) Council-at-
<br />large pOSitions, each for a 4 year term. Filings for
<br />office open at 8:30 a.m. August 30,1988 and close
<br />at 5:00 p.m. September 13, 1988.

<br />WHERE TO VOTE

<br />The City of Ramsey is divided into the three precincts
<br />shown on the map below. Precinct #1 residents vote
<br />at the Ramsey Elementary School at 15000 Nowthen
<br />Blvd. N.W. Precinct #2 residents vote at the Ramsey
<br />Municipal Center at 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W.
<br />Precinct #3 residents vote at the St. Anthony Gun
<br />Club at 16128 Variolite Street N.W. The polls will be
<br />open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the September
<br />13th Primary Election. Voters are urged to keep this
<br />information for the General election to be held in
<br />November.

<br />ASSISTANCE TO
<br />HANDICAPPED VOTERS
<br />
<br />All polling places must meet accessibility standards
<br />unless no available building can be made accessi-
<br />ble. Voters who are unable to enter a polling place
<br />may, with the assistance of two election judges of
<br />different political parties, register and vote without
<br />leaving their vehicles.

<br />PRIMARY ELECTION DAY
<br />
<br />September 13, 1988
<br />
<br />You are eligible to vote if you are 18 years of age
<br />or older, a citizen of the United States and a resi-
<br />dent of Minnesota for at least 20 days. You may
<br />register to vote on the day of the election, however,
<br />the following authorized identification is necessary:
<br />
<br />1. Driver's license or receipt showing correct
<br />address.
<br />2. Learner's permit or receipt showing correct
<br />address.
<br />3. Minnesota identification card showing correct
<br />address.
<br />4. "Notice of ineffective registration."
<br />5. Valid registration in the same precinct at another
<br />address.
<br />6. College students may use any of the following
<br />which show their address in the precinct:
<br />-Student fee .statement
<br />-Student identification card
<br />-Student registration card
<br />7. Oath of a voter registered in the same precinct.

<br />Absentee Ballots for the Primary Election on
<br />September 13th have been available at the Anoka
<br />County Auditor's Office since Saturday, August 15.
<br />Voters may register to vote with proper identification
<br />when voting absentee. The Auditor's office will be
<br />open for absentee voting Monday through Friday
<br />from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours on
<br />Saturday, September 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
<br />and Monday, September 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00
<br />p.m.

<br />POLITICAL CAMPAIGN
<br />SIGN REGULATIONS
<br />
<br />The posting of campaign signs by a bona fide can-
<br />didate for political office or by persons or groups pro-
<br />moting a political issue requires the payment of a
<br />$15.00 deposit at Ramsey Municipal Center. Cam-
<br />paign signs are limited to a maximum of 32 square
<br />feet. Campaign signs shall be removed within 7 days
<br />following the election. If all the signs are removed,
<br />the $15.00 will be refunded, but if removal is not
<br />complete, the deposit will be used to defray the cost
<br />of removal.
